Warm up at the aquarium as we dive into Part 2 of our Winter Day Camps!
This week we will focus on concepts of conservation including invasive species, climate change, and the solutions.
Tickets are available for the full week (four days), a single full day (10:30am-4:00pm), or half-day (10:30am-1:30pm)
Camp activities will include hands-on animal encounters, behind-the-scenes tours, scavenger hunts, arts and crafts, science experiments, and more.
Please pack your campers with a prepared lunch and participants must wear closed-toe shoes for behind-the-scenes access.
Parents/Guardians please review and sign the behind-the-scenes waiver with campers.
Daily Schedule:
Tuesday: Winter Wonders — Have you ever wondered how animals survive winter? Learn about nature in the cold from how snowflakes form to hibernation and migration. Participate in winter-themed arts-and-crafts, a scavenger hunt, and feel what it’s like to have blubber.
Wednesday: Sensational Stingrays– Can you name all of our sensational stingrays? Today, you will get up close with ours as you hand-feed them and learn how aquarists care for them! We will also spend some time with our aquatic invertebrates throughout the day.
Thursday: Stellar Sharks – Part 2 of our elasmobranches – Do you know what makes them different than most other fish? Spend the day learning about all six species of sharks in Via Aquarium, including feedings and hands-on time!
Friday: Captivating Camouflage – Spend the day with our reptiles and friends as we explore the adaptations that help them survive in their habitats. Make your own camouflaged t-shirt with tie-dye and explore our colorful coral reefs.
